It has been a packed few months. Gabi has gotten settled into work, and I’ve adjusted to Phnom Penh. During my period of funemployment we have had some awesome adventures!
We got to climb on some real rock in Kampot during Cambodia’s Water Festival. The rocks were beautiful and it was great to get out of the city and spend time with friends.
Gabi went to Shenzhen for an Okra hackathon, and got to visit Hong Kong too while his visa got processed.
Raph and I spent hours wandering around malls in KL from one cafe/restaurant to the next while Gabi was in China. We also did a workshop on resilience which has made us both 15% better humans.
Gabi and I spent a week in Siem Reap with some long runs, new friends, and lots of temples. We ran the Angkor Wat half marathon route and did a 4:30 am run up Phnom Krom, through fields of puppies, rice and water lilies to a little hill with a temple on top.
Back in Phnom Penh we had some fun getting to know the city a bit more, beautiful colors, places, & people.
My mom and I went to Vientiane and Vang Vieng for a week in December – we saw lots of temples, we dyed scarves, met a few dogs and went to an elephant sanctuary! Both of our bus rides were a bit insane and we embarrassed ourselves figuring out how to properly eat a Lao hot pot.
After, my dad joined us and we visited Siem Reap again, visiting a few beautiful temples in the Angkor Archeological Park, and getting to see one of the floating villages on the Tonle Sap
We then went to KL for Christmas and New Years with our whole(!) family
We’re now back in Phnom Penh (in a new apartment with a kitten!) and can’t wait for what the new year has to bring
